In Flight Items
I admit to overlooking my site a little bit in the past month or so, but I’m getting back on track here. The month of April was truly a whirlwind. Some highlights:
- My team’s quarterly plannig session
- Rim-to-river and back day-hike in the Grand Canyon with Colleagues
- Stargazing up from Mt.Lemmon Skycenter
- Trip Planning for the coming months
To start off, I ran a quick audit of my site on web.dev. It’s a pretty cool website by Google with all sorts of resources on how to make your site faster. These are the results of my site
I plan to spend some time in working on the accessibility piece and further improving some of the Search Engine Optimization settings for this site.
Outside of the site improvements, a visible ‘Archives’ portion is also now live on the site. Right now it’s pretty vanilla, but I plan to add month specific deliniation as well so as to supercharge my archives. With this being the 6th post on this site, the time for tags and pagination is finally upon us. My first goal is to build a simple pagination interface and limit the amount of posts displayed on the homepage. Hugo’s awesome content engine provides some neat tagging capability as well, which I fully plan to explore.
There’s also a minor addendum to the site footer. My 500px profile (which is empty) at this point, is now included. This is because my forray into DSLR photography is about to take off. I will write a detailed post on that later. It’s hard to capture my excitement for that in words, but I’m sure I’ll find a way 😄
Lastly, there is some more python/machine-learning stuff that I am spending time on. There are some really interesting Data Sets on Kaggle that could provide some great hands on learning opportuniites, so I am excited for that as well. The plan is to document interesting finding in due course.
